The Malaysia Tourist eVisa (also called the Visit eVisa) is a convenient online visa for eligible travelers visiting Malaysia for tourism, leisure, family visits, or short non-remunerated activities. The entire process is completed online — no embassy or consulate visit required — allowing you to focus on planning your trip to Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Malacca and beyond.

Applications are typically processed within 48–72 hours. You’ll receive an approval by email with a copy of your eVisa, which you should print on A4 paper and carry during travel. Who Is Eligible?

The Tourist eVisa is available to citizens from a list of bellow eligible countries.

Applicants of Malaysian Visit eVisa online of the eligible countries must:

• Hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
• Have a confirmed return and proof of accommodation.
• Show sufficient funds for the stay.
• Travel strictly for tourism or short, non-remunerated visits.

Restrictions

• No conversion to residency; overstays may lead to fines and entry bans.

Malaysia tourist or Visit Visa Types

1. Single Entry Visa (SEV)

• Purpose: Ideal for short-term visits such as tourism, short business meetings, or attending events.
• Validity: The visa must be used within 90 days from the date it is issued.
• Stay Duration: Allows you to remain in Malaysia for up to 30 consecutive days from your date of entry.
• Extensions: This visa cannot be extended under normal circumstances.
• Re-entry: Once you leave Malaysia, the SEV becomes invalid — you must apply for a new visa for your next visit.

2. Multiple Entry Visa (MEV)

• Purpose: Suitable for frequent travelers such as business professionals, conference attendees, or those with family in Malaysia.
• Validity: Typically issued for 3 months to 12 months (depending on approval), allowing multiple entries during the validity period.
• Stay Duration per Visit: Each stay can be up to 30 consecutive days from your date of entry.
• Extensions: This visa cannot be extended beyond the permitted stay for each entry.
• Benefits: Saves time for frequent travelers, as you do not need to re-apply for a visa for each trip within the validity period.

Processing Time of Malaysia tourist eVisa

Standard processing is typically 3–5 working days. An urgent/express option may be available (additional fees). Submissions after 12:00 PM (MYT) are generally processed the next working day.
